Clients come first. It’s this simple yet powerful philosophy that has guided Wayne since his first day as an advisor nearly 20 years ago. Now that he’s a business owner with an office in Hereford, Texas, Wayne applies his philosophy to help 130 families and business owners manage and preserve their wealth.
“My goal is to have a complete financial team centered on my clients’ specific needs,” Wayne explained. “Linda, Brandy and I complement one another very well and are bigger together than as individuals.” Furthermore, the team is united by their commitment to provide wealth management rooted in a personal, caring touch that lets clients know they are honored to serve them.
Wayne’s emphasis on providing customized, holistic financial planning has allowed him to serve countless clients – including business owners, families, widowers and widows – all while building long-lasting, multigenerational relationships. He appreciates the fact that most affluent families prioritize their legacies, and makes it his mission to uphold those legacies by cultivating close ties with their children and grandchildren. In addition, Wayne doesn’t simply focus on risks and returns, but also on leading meaningful client conversations about other forms of planning, including insurance and estate planning.
Wayne believes that the most effective financial guidance is rooted in empathy, and he relies on his sense of humor and down-to-earth personality to help clients address the toughest of topics. “What my clients feel is more important than what I think or know,” he said. “Only after dealing with the emotional side of wealth can I help them make confident financial decisions.” Wayne also empowers clients by helping them learn something new during every visit. Dependability is his strong suit, and he prides himself on being a man of his word.
Wayne, who holds a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science from West Texas A&M University, spent 17 years working at Edward Jones before joining Raymond James in 2021. Ultimately, his decision to join Raymond James – a firm known for its client-first values – was inspired by his desire to open a truly distinct practice. “I wanted to create a business rooted in putting clients’ needs first,” Wayne said. “I wanted it to be a business that enjoyed serving clients and allowed our team to prosper.”
An active member of his community, Wayne has served on the Muleshoe Economic Development Board, on the Muleshoe Area Hospital Board for two terms and as a two-time Rotary president. He has also spent over a decade on the board of The Opportunity Plan, Inc., which helps fund the college careers of students in Canyon, Texas, through grants and loans.
Wayne grew up in Farwell, Texas, and now lives in Nazareth, Texas, and Lubbock, Texas, with his wife, Leslie. The couple shares four children: Megan, Olivia, Tobin and Maggie. Outside of the office, Wayne enjoys boating, skiing and golfing with his family. Wayne and Leslie are also passionate about traveling and recently bought a big motorhome to indulge their wanderlust.
